Coming from a highly technical background, I found it extremely hard to break out of the grid - the geometric, obsessive compulsive, rigid grid, therefore, I embraced it.
System is a typface based on 3 angles: 0, 60 & 120. By using this custom grid I was able to create consistent shapes and letters by following a particular set of flexible rules. System is designed to have a consistent metering system, so it requires no kerning.
As an alternative, the letterforms were rotated and brought back to a regular non-oblique position, and then modified to create System Regular.
